'Improvisation' is a project that investigates the construction and annihilation of intentions and expectations. For how long can we hold on to our ambitions? How do we cope with chaotic forces that are asserted by the outside world? How do we speak with spontaneity and grace? By abandoning a certain amount of control a cavity is created.
This expanse can be filled with joy, with fear, with hope, with energy. The creative impulse, paired with the element of collaboration, prompts this uncertain space with unexpected potentials.
'Improvisation' is a nearly yearlong investigation into (un)prepared space.
Without restrictions and restraint anything is possible, all is imaginable.
Improvisation, traditionally, lies within a formulated space; a stage, a song, a conversation, an available material, a concept. Every artistic endeavor is filled with hopes, aspirations, and expectations. The result, the outcome, often has a tendency to turn out in contrast than what was planned.
